Oregon made history as the first U.S. state to legalize psilocybin therapy. Licensed service centers now offer legal psilocybin experiences in carefully controlled therapeutic settings.
Oregon's Measure 109, passed in 2020 and implemented in 2023, created a legal framework for psilocybin therapy. All sessions must take place at licensed service centers with trained facilitators. Participants must be 21+, complete a preparation session, and remain on-site for the duration of effects. This is the only fully legal psilocybin therapy option in the United States.
