Pricing & what's included

Retreat and program costs vary by location and length. In the US, Oregon and Colorado offer state-licensed psilocybin services: typical out-of-pocket cost for a full experience (preparation, session, integration) is about $1,500–$3,500. International retreats (Mexico, Jamaica, Netherlands) often include accommodation and multiple ceremonies; prices vary by duration and facility.

What's typically included in the price

  • Preparation session(s) or calls with facilitators
  • Psilocybin session(s) in a supervised setting
  • Integration session(s) after the experience
  • Accommodation (for multi-day retreats) and meals where noted
  • Medical or intake screening (varies by program)

Not usually included: travel, travel insurance, flights, and sometimes extra integration or private sessions. Always confirm with the retreat before booking.

Oregon vs Colorado: how they compare

Both states offer legal, facilitator-led psilocybin experiences. Oregon launched first under Measure 109 (2023); Colorado's natural medicine program (Proposition 122) began in 2024. Key differences: Oregon requires ~120 hours of facilitator training; Colorado requires ~200 hours. Oregon is psilocybin-only at service centers; Colorado allows other natural medicines at licensed healing centers. Sessions in both are on-site only—no take-home product.

Oregon

Oregon's licensed psilocybin service centers offer facilitator-led sessions under Measure 109. Facilitators complete state-approved training (~120 hours). Sessions are on-site only; no take-home product. Use the state directory to find licensed service centers and facilitators.

Colorado

Colorado's healing centers operate under Proposition 122. Facilitator training requirements are higher (~200 hours) than Oregon's. Services are on-site at licensed facilities. Colorado also allows other natural medicines under the program; psilocybin is the first to be offered.

What to Expect

Before

Preparation calls with facilitators, dietary guidelines, intention setting, and medical screening. Most retreats require 1–2 weeks of preparation.

During

Guided ceremonies in safe settings, integration circles, nature time, and support from experienced facilitators. Group sizes are typically small (6–12 people).

After

Follow-up integration sessions, community support, and resources for continuing your journey. Many retreats offer ongoing support for weeks or months.

Preparation timeline & what to bring

Most retreats ask for 1–2 weeks of preparation: intake forms, a preparation call (or in-person session), and sometimes dietary or medication guidelines. Medical screening is common—you may be asked about mental health history, medications, and contraindications to ensure safety.

What to bring: comfortable clothes, journal, prescribed medications (disclose to the retreat), toiletries, and layers. Many centers suggest an eye mask and avoid alcohol and certain supplements before the experience. Your retreat will send a specific list.
